Accessible Communication – Training for Organizations Implementing the SHAPE Project

06/11/2025

As part of the project “Strengthening Access to Health Care, Participation and Social Equality in the Western Balkans (SHAPE)”, an online training on “Accessible Communication” was held on November 5, intended for organizations implementing project activities in the field.

The training was conducted by Caritas Serbia, a member of the HUMANAS network and a long-standing partner of the Red Cross of Serbia. Through interactive sessions, participants gained practical knowledge about the importance of accessible communication, organizing inclusive events, and creating accessible web content. A particularly engaging part of the training was a simulation exercise in which participants were invited to take on the roles of persons with disabilities and their personal assistants, fostering empathy and understanding of inclusion challenges.

The training brought together organizations operating info lines in Novi Sad, Belgrade, Velika Plana, Inđija, and Pirot, as well as those implementing broader support activities for older persons – Zaječar, Sombor, and Niš.

The SHAPE project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Labour, Health, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection of the Republic of Austria and the Austrian Red Cross.
