AGEING IN CITIES – FOCUS GROUP INTERVIEW IN KRUSEVAC

05/08/2017

The Red Cross of Serbia, in partnership with the Commissioner for Protection of Equality and with support provided by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has since 1 July 2017 started implementation of the project “Ageing in Cities”. This project includes a research covering twelve Serbian cities, looking into needs, challenges and opportunities for older people in urban areas. One of the first activities in the project was a focus group interview organised on 26 July in the Red Cross of Serbia branch in Krusevac. Twelve older people from Krusevac spoke about accessibility of healthcare and social welfare, accessibility of transport services, lifelong learning and safety, as well as the opportunities for inclusion in the social life of their communities.

This is a six months project and will result in a set of recommendations on how to improve the quality of life of older men and women living in Serbian cities. It will also highlight the examples of good practice.
