On Tuesday, 7 November 2023, the Red Cross of Serbia was visited by 7 representatives of Caritas Banja Luka and Caritas Mostar and representatives of Caritas from Austria. The objective of the visit was to learn about the work of the Red Cross and the Humanas network.

An important topic of discussion was advocacy for dignified aging through changes in public policy that will contribute to aging being reflected in all policies, starting with social security and health, through employment, education, transportation, and intergenerational solidarity. A specially important topic was the quality of life of persons living with dementia and their informal caregivers. Professional associates of the Red Cross of Serbia Nataša Todorović and Dr. Milutin Vračević presented educational materials and research conducted in this area. Caritas representatives also presented their work in this area and the challenges they face. These challenges are specific not only for Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; they are global and this is an opportunity for cooperation that would involve advocacy at regional and global level.
