Easter Holidays in the Red Cross of Sombor

On Thursday 25 April 2019 in the Red Cross of Sombor education centre an Easter event was organised that included painting of eggs. Women fro, the Pensioner Association, young persons from the Migrant Centre and the Red Cross volunteers painted Easter eggs together but also chatted and shared their experiences related to marking different religious holidays. The female migrants from the Centre prepared two cakes for all the event participants and the children of different ages from the Centre sang their traditional religious songs. At the end of the event each child received a gift.
These activities showed once again the importance of multicultural approach and social inclusion of all. They also showed that intergenerational cooperation is important for a community as well as that knowledge and skills transfer is the way to building solidarity and understanding of other cultures and their customs. These activities were implemented with support provided by UNDP and local administration, confirming that only through partnership in the community we can develop a cohesive society.
Natasa Todorovic, representative of the Red Cross of Serbia was present at the event.
