Healthy Aging training for the Hungarian Red Cross

As part of the project “Strengthening the resilience of older people and people with disabilities during COVID-19 and future disasters”, and in order to strengthen the partnership with National Societies in the region, the Healthy Aging training for employees and volunteers of the Hungarian Red Cross was held from 20 until February 23 in Balatonlelle, Hungary. The training included 9 thematic units: Healthy aging and functional capacity; Assessment; Behavioural change; Non-communicable diseases; Prevention of falls; Healthy diet; Physical activity; Prevention of social exclusion; Lifelong learning. The concept of a supportive environment and intergenerational solidarity was also presented.

The training was delivered by Nataša Todorović and dr. Milutin Vračević, the red Cross of Serbia experts, who are certified educators by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the World Health Organization.
