Italian Red Cross and Red Cross of Serbia Volunteers Together in Training – Project “Together We Do Better”

The Red Cross of Serbia branch Niš is honored to host volunteers from the Italian Red Cross Committee Tuscany as part of the international project “Together We Do Better,” which they are implementing together with volunteers from the Red Cross of Niš and the Red Cross of Vranje.

The project is being carried out with the support of the Red Cross of Serbia and the Italian Red Cross, with the goal of exchanging knowledge, experience, and best practices in the field of first aid, as well as strengthening volunteer capacities and developing new forms of cooperation.

The training is taking place from October 24 to 30 at the Red Cross Training Center in Divljana (Niš), covering topics such as first aid, realistic injury simulation, and the depiction of medical conditions. Through practical workshops and joint activities, volunteers from Serbia and Italy are learning from one another and improving their skills through shared international experience.

Before arriving in Niš, the Italian volunteers visited the Headquarters of the Red Cross of Serbia in Belgrade, where they discussed future cooperation and joint plans in the fields of first aid and volunteer engagement.

During their visit to Niš, the volunteers were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Dragan Radovanović, President of the Red Cross of Serbia, Mariangela Bronwen Lassi, International Cooperation Officer, Italian Red Cross Committee of Tuscany and  Flavio Ciriaci, Regional Delegate for Europe of the Italian Red Cross

The joint Red Cross delegation also visited Niš City Hall, where they met with Mr. Stevan Veselinović, member of the City Council, and Mr. Miljan Petrović, to discuss ongoing and future cooperation in the areas of humanitarian work and volunteerism.

This activity represents another example of successful international cooperation and knowledge exchange between the Red Cross of Serbia and the Italian Red Cross, with the hope that this partnership will continue to grow in the future — especially through the collaboration between the Red Cross of Niš and the Red Cross of Tuscany.

The project “Together We Do Better” is the result of a series of activities initiated by the Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Florence and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Rome, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and friendship between the volunteers from two countries through humanitarian activities.
