Lecture on long-term care at the Faculty of Political Sciences

31/03/2023

As part of the optional course, Social work with Older Persons at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Belgrade, Nataša Todorović, representative of the Red Cross of Serbia, gave a lecture on “Access to long-term care services in the Republic of Serbia”. Students, future social workers, had the opportunity to hear the basic data from the research and recommendations for the improvements in this area, because it turned out that users are mostly satisfied with the quality of services, but not with the quantity, and that it is necessary to develop more services in the community, as well as greater coordination between social welfare and healthcare services.

The research is part of the project “Strengthening the resilience of older people and people with disabilities during COVID-19 and future disasters”. The project is coordinated by the Red Cross of Serbia and supported by the European Union, Austrian Development Agency and the Austrian Red Cross.
