"Open your eyes" campaign: posters in public transport vehicles across Serbian cities
In continuation of the "Open Your Eyes" campaign of the Red Cross of Serbia, posters were placed in public transport vehicles in 5 cities across the country. The campaign includes more than 20 vehicles in cities such as Subotica, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Nis, Kragujevac.
The campaign began with the education of elderly women and gerontocarers on 15 May, continued with a photo-exhibition in Knez Mihailova Street in Belgrade on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, 15 June, and continued with a short film broadcast in post offices in 17 cities that will be broadcast until the end of the year.
The goal of the campaign is to raise public awareness of the problem that is not being talked about, but also to point out the importance of continuously influencing the prevention of violence through a wide range of activities and campaigns, and thus enable dignified aging. The Red Cross of Serbia has been pointing out the importance of this topic for many years, while in cooperation with partners at local, national and international level, it implements projects related to this topic.
The campaign is part of the project "Empowering older women: preventing violence through challenging social norms in Serbia and Austria (EmPreV)", implemented with the support of the European Union, Austrian Development Agency and Austrian Red Cross.
