Psychosocial support – Coordination Meeting

As part of its psychosocial support activities to migrants, the Red Cross of Serbia organized a coordination meeting on 7 and 8 August 2017 with those Red Cross branches who are implementing psychosocial support activities in Centres for Migrants. 

The meeting’s objective was to share experience and examples of best practices as well as to discuss challenges that Red Cross staff and volunteers are facing during their field visits.  In addition to sharing experience, the meeting’s objective was also to map needs, resources as well as to draft an activity plan for psychosocial support activities for particularly sensitive categories. The meeting was chaired by Natasa Todorovic, psychologist and Dr Milutin Vracevic from the Red Cross of Serbia as well as Nevenka Bogdanovic, psychologist from the Red Cross of Kragujevac. Dr Jeyathesan Kulasingam, from the Regional Office of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies also took part it the meeting.

Most of the participants concluded that such meetings should be taking place at least twice a year.
