As part of the capacity building activities of the Red Cross of Serbia related to provision of psychosocial support in emergencies, between 26 and 28 August 2019 a training session for nineteen staff and volunteers was organised in the training centre Mitrovo Polje. The three-day training included lectures and interactive group work as well as emergency simulations. The participants learned about crisis events/ emergencies, what their effects are and what the psychosocial reactions of survivors are likely to be. The training also covered the basics of communication and implementation planning. Two simulations were organised, one focusing on floods and another on emergency airplane landing. In the coming period the Red Cross of Serbia will continue to increase its capacities to provide psychosocial support.
