On Friday, 16 June 2023, the Red Cross of Serbia organized a public event in the Nursing Home Bežanijska kosa, together with the Gerontological Centre Belgrade, as a continuation of the activities marking the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. On this occasion, the Red Cross of Serbia presented the Home with a donation in the form of an oxygen concentrator that will be used in the therapy of residents, and the professional associate of the Red Cross of Serbia, Nataša Todorović, delivered a lecture to the employees about the importance of fighting elder abuse, with a special emphasis on abuse of older men and women in the residential care institutions.

The event was also attended by Lav Pajkić, State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, as well as Ljubomir Miladinović, Secretary General of the Red Cross of Serbia. In his speech, Ljubomir Miladinović highlighted the successful cooperation with the Gerontological Centre Belgrade, reminded the audience of the training for 200 gerontocarers of the Institution, organized by the Red Cross of Serbia in 2021, and expressed his belief that the donation of the Red Cross of Serbia will help improve the services provided to older beneficiaries.
