Training for volunteers, employees and informal caregivers in the Red Cross Sombor

27/03/2024

As part of the “Addressing and Preventing Care Needs through Innovative Community Care Centres (I-CCC)” project, on Monday, 25March, the Red Cross Sombor organized a training session for employees, volunteers and informal caregivers from the families included in the project's activities. The training was held by the project coordinators, Nataša Todorović and Dr. Milutin Vračević from the Red Cross of Serbia, and 27 people attended.

The project introduces innovative support and care services at local level and has a special focus on people diagnosed with dementia and their family members. Within the training, emphasis was placed on the roles of volunteers, employees and informal caregivers themselves in the process of providing care and support to a person diagnosed with dementia, and what they expect from each other, and on the other hand, what are the services that are missing and that could be developed in their municipality. The project made it possible to open the possibility for further cooperation at local level for the improvement and development of the services piloted by this project.

This three-year project was financed by the European Union and the Austrian Development Agency.
