Training session for informal caregivers were held at the Red Cross of Pirot

As part of the „Addressing and preventing care needs through innovative community care Centres (I –CCC)“ project which is co - financed by the European Union and the Austrian Development Agency, on February 9 and 10, 2023, a training session for informal caregivers were held at the Red Cross of Pirot.

The objective of the two – day workshop was to educate family members, informal caregivers, relatives and neighbors on how to take care of the elderly and people with disabilities as best as they can. The participants of the training acquired basic knowledge about the most common health problems of the elderly and people with disabilities, and a special part of the training was directed towards people with diagnosed dementia. The participants of the training received the necessary knowledge and examples that related to some of the most common situations in which they can find themselves during care, as well as information on how to take care of themselves and their mental and physical health. The total number of training participants was 28 on the first day and 23 on the second day.

The training was held by experts of the Red Cross of Serbia – psychologist Natasa Todorovic and dr Milutin Vracevic.
