A first meeting of partners was held on October 12 and 13, 2021, within the project “Alleviation of COVID-19 Effects and Consequences on the most Vulnerable in Society with a Special Focus on Older People." The project partners include the Red Cross of Serbia, Georgian Red Cross, the Red Cross Society of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, the NGO Paroka Nasa and the Austrian Red Cross, which also coordinates the project. The goal of the project is to develop services intended for older persons in the local community in Northern Macedonia and Georgia, as well as the prevention of violence against older persons, primarily women in Georgia.

The role of the Red Cross of Serbia in this project is to transfer knowledge and experience on prevention of violence against older persons to Georgian partners, as well as to design research on violence against older women in Georgia, and also to provide professional assistance in conducting research. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of Austria.
