Meeting of the InkluzivаM Network

Meeting of InkluzivaM network was organised on 20, 21 and 22 April 2018 in the Solferino training centre of the Red Cross of Macedonia, in Struga. The Coordinator of Taking Action on Social Inclusion of Older People (TASIOP) project, Natasa Todorovic of the Red Cross of Serbia participated in the meeting.

The meeting involved representatives of InkluzivaM Network members as well as representatives of civil society organisations implementing microprojects within the TASIOP project. Also participating was a representative of the Ministry for Social Affairs, Zoran Blazevski, who talked about the system of social welfare in the republic of Macedonia. Representative of the Institute for Public Health Prof Dr Elena Kosevska talked about the plan for healthy and active ageing and representative of the Institute for Social work and Social issues, Prof Dr SuncicaDimitrijoska talked about providing high quality services for older people in the Republic of Macedonia.

A UNFPA representative, Sonja Tanevska presented new developments in the UNFPA work related to improving the quality of life of older people. The Red Cross of Serbia Coordinator, Natasa Todorovic talked about the concept of human rights of older people, the work done so far and the next steps in establishing mechanisms for protection of older people’s human rights.

All civil society organisations implementing microprojects were invited to present their projects, with special attention to achievements so far and activities planned for the next period. All the presented projects demonstrated the multidimensional nature of social inclusion and the diversity of older people’s needs in different communities. The projects certainly improved the cohesion of local communities and strengthened the capacities of older people to participate in the life of their families, communities and the society.
