Network ISP – Association of Social Researchers – TASIOP microproject

15/01/2018

Network ISP – Association of Social Researchers is one of the civil society organisations that were selected for subgrant support in the Red Cross of Serbia call for microproject proposals within the framework of the regional project “Taking Action on Social Inclusion of Older People” (TASIOP). One of the activities of this organisation are intergenerational social events – ISP Evergreen – every second Saturday of the month. These events are gatherings of experts of different generations discussing the important issues related to social policy. At each of these meetings, three persons – a retired researcher, an active researcher and a student – speak about a certain topic. The meeting that is part of the project was organised on Saturday 13 January 2018 in the National Institute for Social Welfare and the topic was “Welfare State”. The topic was discussed by: Prof Dr Miroslav Ruzica, sociologist, Zarko Sunderic, Associate of the Centre for Social Policy and Milos Todorovic, anthropology student. All the participants of the discussion agreed that the solution lies in good management and that it is necessary to preserve the limits of the system and ensure its development. Social movements and more active professionals need to be the agent of change. A network of welfare states should be established in the Western Balkans.

The meeting was attended by the Red Cross of Serbia representatives, Natasa Todorovic and Milutin Vracevic, as well as the Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic and the Head of the National Institute for Social Welfare Bozidar Dakic.

This activity is part of the regional project Taking Action on Social Inclusion of Older People (TASIOP), funded by European Union, Austrian Development Agency and Austrian Red Cross, coordinated by the Red Cross of Serbia.
