What older people say about their rights to autonomy and independence, long-term care and palliative care
This report presents the themes and issues raised by 450 older people from 24 countries in a consultation on their rights to autonomy, independence, long-term care and palliative care In light of the responses, the report makes recommendations on the content of these rights.
The aim of this report is to inform the discussions on the rights of older people at the national level in preparation for the 9th session of the UN Open-ended Working Group on Ageing (OEWG), at the OEWG session itself in 23-26 July 2018 and at future OEWG sessions.
The Red Cross of Serbia, as the HelpAge International affiliate has participated in consultations this year, as it did the last year. Older volunteers of the Red Cross of, Serbia, 48 of them, took part in the consultation process, making sure that the voice of older people is heard and that no one is left behind.
