Between the rain and the sun

06/06/2018

Over the road of oil fields and grown corn, 15 kilometers from Kikinda, closer to Banat Topola, a migrant  center spreading 106 Afghans, Iranians and Pakistanans was spreading. In the spring that resembles the summer, the sun and rain, joy and sorrow change. Time is the time of Ramadan. There are 56 children living here. Children from this center prefer to go to school and they are good enough for them to learn and get new friends. As soon as they saw the sign of the Red Cross Kikinda and AranakaFelbab, the secretary of this organization, surrounded us with the question when they would get backpacks   for the school. From the four necessary backpacks for boys and girls from the entrance to the center until entering the dining room the number rises to 8 necessary bags. While parents are mostly in their  rooms, children  ride bicycles, and they hold their younger brothers and sisters.

Food started to be shared. In the snow-white T-shirts of the Red Cross, with the caps on the head and with a sincere smile, the meal is shared to the migrants. Migrants also receive 3 liters of bottled water. Enough for the sparrow that it took off the day before the summer splash. By the ring fence of the center is a washed laundry that is already curly.

Reza Larki (16 years old) from Iran, with her uncle and his family, reached Serbia. Kikinda is 11 months old, and before that he was in Sid. He would like to go to some school, but for now this is not possible. Until then he plays football with his friends from Banatska Topola. They write a message to his phone, or they call him, and he "took the bike" and flew to the ground. The locals already know him well, they call him in the house and speaks with him and learn him a   language. However, he is most helped was a certain girl from Kikinda, his peer, for which he claims to be his girlfriend. Also, she has other one in a village.

In the center staff of Commission for refugees and migrants   tells us that the migrants here agreed best with the locals. They invite them to help them in the fields and around the house. They   can do something, but first of all, people get to know each other better and get better understood. There are other feelings in migrant center too. The young Pakistan is seriously fallen in love and  he is now suffering because she went to visit her family outside of Serbia.

And  the days  are flowing , between hope and joy, sadness and uncertainties  with the constant waiting for a better day to come for these people. For now, every day here is the same, as are the fields surrounding the migrant center.
