Monitoring Visit to the Movement for the Third Age of Serbia

29/08/2018

On Tuesday 28 August 2018 the Red Cross of Serbia associate Natasa Todorovic visited a civil society organisation Movement for the Third Age of Serbia, one of the subgrantee partners in the „Taking Action on Social Inclusion of Older People (TASIOP) project. Movement for the Third Age of Serbia is one of the twelve civil society subgrantees implementing local level microprojects aiming to improve social inclusion of older people and test models of good practice in inclusion of older people in the life of their communities.

During the visit Ms. Todorovic talked with the representatives of Movement for the Third Age of Serbia about their activities and achievements during the ten months of microproject implementation. Movement for the Third Age of Serbia has in this period organised a variety of inclusive activities in several municipalities in Serbia including an intergenerational paintings exhibition and a lecture on painting and icons in cooperation with the Pensioner Association of Despotovac, an exhibition of handcrafted decorations and local cuisine organised by Pensioner Association of Umcari, as well as many other activities. A special element of the project implemented by Movement for the Third Age of Serbia was the production of television reports that were broadcasted by the National Broadcasting Corporation in the specialised TV Show „Third Age“, presenting the activities of the older generation, their creativity and participation in social life to the widest audience.

Local microprojects projects in the TASIOP project are being finalised at the end of August and the good practices tested through their implementation will be published in a collection in regional languages and English at the end of the project. The “Taking Action on Social Inclusion of Older People” project is supported by the European Union, Austrian Development Agency and Austrian Red Cross and it is coordinated in five countries of the region by the Red Cross of Serbia.
